Our History

2005

Pierre Gagné had a vision for Lévis: a facility to match those of Quebec’s other major cities. This led him to help establish the Lévis Convention and Exhibition Centre along with the Four Points by Sheraton Lévis Hotel, which opened in 2008.

2010

Pierre Gagné became the sole shareholder of Four Points by Sheraton Lévis and the sole manager of the Lévis Convention and Exhibition Centre.

2014

The Centre has hosted nearly 450 events and welcomed over 110,000 visitors.

2015

An $11 million expansion began in April, increasing public space from 22,000 to 35,000 square feet. The Centre’s total area now exceeds 80,000 square feet, representing a nearly 60% increase.

2016

To date, the Centre has generated over $400 million in economic impact for Lévis. It has supported the development of commercial, residential, and office spaces valued at around $350 million. The Centre’s expansion modernized the hotel sector, increasing capacity from 400 to over 900 rooms. Retailers have gained several million dollars in annual economic benefits.

2018

The Lévis Convention and Exhibition Centre celebrates its tenth anniversary.

2019

Karl Gagné, son of Pierre Gagné and a member of the family business since 2012, officially became general manager of Four Points by Sheraton and the Lévis Convention Centre.

2020

We will never forget March 13, 2020, the day the Centre temporarily closed due to the pandemic. Later that year, the Lévis Convention and Exhibition Centre quietly changed its name to the Lévis Convention Centre and introduced a new identity and logo. The logo, inspired by the three chevrons on the Lévis coat of arms, reflects the Centre’s architecture. The new brand aligns with the Centre’s contemporary, dynamic image and commitment to ongoing evolution.

2021

In March, after hosting several major events since its opening, the Centre joined the collective effort and transformed into a vaccination centre, undoubtedly another milestone in its history. Nearly 250,000 vaccines were administered, and some employees began returning to work to help with this vast effort. On October 15, 2021, after nine months of mass vaccination, the Centre resumed normal operations and hosted major events, including the Lévis Chamber of Commerce's La soirée des Pléiades.

Over the years, Lévis Convention Centre has had the honour of hosting a wide variety of events.

From major corporate events and large-scale meetings gathering hundreds of attendees, to public trade shows, galas, and high-profile competitions, the Lévis Convention Centre has hosted it all. Among them, the Gala des Pléiades organized by the Lévis Chamber of Commerce and the Hit the Floor dance competition have left a lasting impression.

No matter the type of event, the Lévis Convention Centre is the ideal venue to bring it to life. Let yourself be inspired by photos of our spaces in action, they are sure to spark your creativity and help transform your vision into a memorable experience.
