1. Aim of the Policy

This policy reflects the Lévis Centre des congrès’s commitment to data safety and the protection of personal and confidential information.

Lévis Centre des congrès (hereinafter LCC) is a private company subject to, namely, the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (CQLR, c. A-2.1), and the Act to establish a legal framework for information technology (CQLR, c. C-1.1).

2.1 Protection of Personal and Confidential Information

Concerned with the privacy and the personal and confidential information it collects and stores, LCC commits to following the provisions, values, and fundamental principles established by applicable legislation. It ensures to implement the necessary measures to guarantee transparency and respect for the confidentiality of the information provided to obtain the desired services.

2.2 Safety of the Information

LCC commits to implement a set of technological, organisational, human, legal, and ethical measures to ensure the safety of information, including but not limited to:

  • Accessibility of information, which must be available at the time and in the format requested by authorized persons

  • The integrity of information, ensuring it remains unaltered or destroyed without authorization and in accordance with LCC’s retention schedule, and that the storage medium provides the necessary stability and durability

  • The confidentiality of information by limiting its disclosure to authorized persons only

  • Identification and authentication to confirm, when required, the identity of a person or the identification of a document or device

  • Irrevocability to ensure that actions, exchanges, or documents are unquestionable and clearly traceable to the entity that generated them

Any information pertaining to a building or legal entity that its author or owner deems as confidential, whether financial, commercial, or strategic in nature, unless applicable public sector laws allow for disclosure of this information held by LCC.

3.3 Safety of the Information

Protection consisting of all safety measures implemented to preserve the confidentiality, integrity, and accessibility of information held by LCC, based on the sensitivity and value of that information, the risks to which it is exposed, and the obligations to which it is subject.

6. Liability of the User

The user is liable for the information they send to LCC and for maintaining the confidentiality of their identification and authentication details (user code, access code, password, access card, etc.). LCC cannot be held liable for any unauthorized use caused by the user.

The user must also ensure that the system or equipment they use to transmit or receive information from LCC is sufficiently secure and uses vigilance. LCC cannot be held liable for unauthorized access to information resulting from negligence or vulnerabilities in the user's equipment or system.
